Lea Ann Welton
(October 26, 1942 - January 14, 2012)
Lea Ann Welton, 69, of Shelbyville, went home to be with the Lord at 11:21 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Chase Smith and Jeanne Coventry officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL. Memorials may be given to The Autism Program (TAP) of Illinois, in honor of her great grandson, Dayvin Fisher.
Lea Ann was born on October 26, 1942 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Carl George and Ruth Naomi Howse Jesse. Lea Ann was a graduate of Moweaqua High School in the Class of 1960 and Sparks Business College, Shelbyville in 1961. She retired from Shelby Memorial Hospital where she worked as a registration clerk. Lea Ann was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church in rural Moweaqua, IL. She married Jack Lewis Welton on August 22, 1961. He died on June 15, 1995.
Surviving are her children, David Welton and wife Jayne of Beecher City, IL, Lori Ann Hinton and husband Bobby of Shelbyville, IL, Dewayne Welton and wife Cathy of Belvidere, IL and Doug Welton and wife Tina of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Carol Etherton and husband Kenneth of Assumption, IL and Betty Stenger and husband Rick of Decatur, IL; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Lea Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and brother, William George “Bill” Jesse.
She was a loving mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed her friends, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but mostly enjoyed life to fullest.
