Robert Leon Wilson, 84, of Matteson, IL, formerly of Shelbyville and Decatur, IL died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012 in St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights, IL.
Graveside Masonic rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL by Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979. Family and friends may gather at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday.
Robert was born on October 9, 1927 in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles and Avis Lucille Backensto Wilson. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II. Robert was a cafeteria manager for the F.W. Woolworth Company until his retirement. He was a member of Stephen Decatur Masonic Lodge #979 in Decatur, IL.
He is survived by his nephew, Chuck TenBroeck (Joanne) of Frankfort, IL; nieces, Cheryl TenBroeck of Terre Haute, IN, Michelle Jackson (John) of Alford, FL and Tina Hogan (Tom) of Frankfort, IL; great nephews, Tom and Joe Hogan; great nieces, Ellen and Anna Hogan, Kathryn Quas (Eric) and Kristin TenBroeck; and all of his friends at Applewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Matteson, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Wilson; and sister, Shirley TenBroeck.
