Randall D. Lower 

(October 31, 1933 – November 28, 2021)

Randall Dean “Randy” Lower, 88, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2021 in his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Shelby County Honor Guard.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Randy was born on October 31, 1933 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Charles R. and Muriel F. Kennedy Lower.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1951 and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.  Randy worked at Caterpillar in Decatur for over 38 years, retiring in 1995.  He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville.  Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking.  He married Jennie Lee Askins on December 24, 1955.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie; daughters, Angela Walden (Scott) and Lisa Price (Dennis) all of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Karla Martz (William) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Aaron Gaddis, Amber Shoemaker (Justin), Shannon Price, Bryana Price, Natalie Price, Caleb Price, Jennifer Carr (Wally), and Robert Price;  and great grandchildren, Zachary Hood, Izik Hood, Hailey Hood, Waylon Hood, Logan Shoemaker, Landon Shoemaker, Larissa Carr, Max Carr and Simon Carr (Maranda).

He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Tony Martz.
