Darlene F. Lively

Darlene Frances Lively, 93, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 in Accolade Healthcare of Paxton, IL.

A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Tom Jones officiating. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville First United Methodist Church and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville.

Darlene was born on September 26, 1928, the daughter of Thomas Robert and Emma Elizabeth (Bailey) Anderson. She graduated from Shelbyville High School.  Darlene married Robert “Bob” Louis Lively on August 6, 1945, and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1996. She was a teacher’s aide at Main Street School and Moulton Middle School both in Shelbyville for many years.  Darlene was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kaskaskia Boat Club and the Lioness Club all in Shelbyville. She enjoyed playing bridge and singing in the church choir and also in the Greater Decatur Chorale.

Darlene is survived by her sons, Tom Lively and wife Jane of Brentwood, TN, and Brent Lively of Taylorville, IL; daughter, Rebecca Jones and husband Tom of Loda, IL; sister, Roxy Manning and husband Kenneth of Springfield, IL; son-in-law, Greg Mason and wife Mina of Mt. Zion, IL; daughter-in-law, Christine Lively of Nagshead, NC; grandchildren, Matt Lively (Cathy), Jill Stevens (John), Sarah Jones, Ben Lively (Caroline), Hannah Decker (Larry), Beth Creighton (Keith), Tim Mason, Jared Lively (Brittany), Jordan Lively (Molly), Judson Lively (Lyndsey), and Joel Lively; and great grandchildren, Sidney Lively, Kendall Lively, Thomas William Lively, Ryan Lively, Daniel Lively, Zoe Creighton, Evie June Lively, Eli Lively, Lily Lively, May Jackie Lively, Mason Lively and Maxwell Mitchell Lively.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Robert Mitchell “Mitch” Lively; daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Mason; brother, Jerome “Sam” Anderson (Ferol); and sisters, Wilma Friese (Edwin), Dorothy Howe (Daniel “Ed”), and Patricia Kensil (Dale “Cork”).
