Gary P. Goersch
(December 6, 1953 – August 3, 2022)
Gary Paul “Bo” Goersch, 68, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in his residence.
Bo was born on December 6, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Paul Frank and Lillian Marie (Schott) Goersch. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and went on to attend Meramac Community College, both in St. Louis, MO. Bo married Linda L. Duvall-Wheatley on June 24, 2005. He worked as a Systems Analyst for the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma before retiring to Shelbyville in 2016. Bo was a member of the NRA and AA. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed all things science fiction and playing contract bridge.
Bo is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Laura C. Goersch of High Ridge, MO, and Pamela M. Hillsman (Mike) of Imperial, MO; step-daughters, Lindy Wheatley of Savoy, IL, and Kathleen Alexander (Zachary) of Seattle, WA; sister, Kathy Nehring of St. Louis, MO; brother, Paul W. Goersch of St. Louis, MO; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brendan, Nate, Olivia, Drew, Lucas, Charlie and Morgan; and nephew, Michael Nehring of Fenton, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James P. Goersch; and sister, Joan Goersch.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
