Marvin Charles Wonderling

Marvin Charles “Charlie” Wonderling, 80, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in his residence in Ruskin, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Blyman Addition, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Fire Protection District.
Charlie was born on December 17, 1942 in Chicago, IL, the son of Marvin L. and Eloise (Hoffman) Wonderling. He graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL. Marvin married Linda Rose Krumwiede on October 7, 1961. Charlie served on the Broadview Fire Department for over 30 years, retiring as Captain in 1997. Charlie and Linda moved to Shelbyville in 1997, where they enjoyed fishing and camping at Lake Shelbyville.
Charlie is survived by his sons, Charles H. (Mary Jo) Wonderling of Shelbyville, IL, Richard L. (Pam) Wonderling of Henderson, NV, Walter L. (Kim) Wonderling of Glendale Heights, IL and Edgar Bosque of Aurora, IL; brother, Ronald Wonderling; sister, Bonnie Ann Campagna (Rick); seven grandchildren, Sarah (Keoki) Merrell, Elizabeth (Phillip) Evitt, Angela (Ryne) Craft, Meghan Wonderling, Michael (Ylla) Wonderling, Sydney (Cody) Panfil and Patrick Brooks; and four great grandchildren, Shawn Merrell, Marshall Wonderling, Theo Evitt, and Charles “Charlie” Evitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda on September 24, 2017; and brother, Richard Wonderling.
