Ira Robert “Bob” Peadro, 74, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:22 a.m. Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Pat Fahey officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday June 6, 2024, at the Windsor Christian Church, Windsor, IL.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by Windsor American Legion Garrett Baldridge Post #725.   Memorials may be given to the Windsor American Legion Garrett Baldridge Post #725 or the Pana Community Hospital Swing Bed Unit.

Bob was born on June 19, 1949, Sullivan, IL, the son of Linzie Robert and Mary (Reed) Peadro.  He attended Jonathan Creek School, Sullivan High School until he was a senior, and graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 1967.  Bob was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a military policeman in Korea.  Bob began his career in the grocery business by working at Gene and Barney’s Supermarket in Shelbyville, IL.  He later worked at Eisner’s in Shelbyville before owning and operating Windsor IGA, Moweaqua Foods, and Windsor Food Center.  He married Vickie Dianne Brown on October 17, 1970. Bob was a member of the Windsor Christian Church and Windsor American Legion Garrett Baldridge Post #725.

Bob is survived by his son, Daric Peadro and wife Carrie of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Darci Groves and husband Chris of Shelbyville, IL; mother-in-law, Betty Brown of Shelbyville, IL; two sisters, Beulah King and Linda Isaacs both of Sullivan, IL: brother-in-law, Larry Brown of Shelbyville, IL; sister-in-law, Julia Myers (Mark) of Zionsville, IN; six grandchildren, Hudson, Brynnlee, and Griffin Peadro, and Hunter, Logan, and McKinley Groves; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dianne on March 15, 2022; and father-in-law, Victor Brown.
