Violet E. Morrison
(November 12, 1949 – July 24, 2024)
Violet Ellen Morrison, 74, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at her home in Bagdad, KY.
Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to VFW Post #4829 or Moose Lodge #1294 both in Shelbyville, IL.
Violet was born on November 12, 1949, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of John William and Violet Etta (Bell) Flowers. She was an in-home caregiver for the last seven years. Previously she worked for Shelbyville Disposal Service and The Spigot. She married Tracy Earl Morrison in April of 2014. Violet was an avid collector of Fenton Art Glass and a member of Women of the Moose in Shelbyville, where she was a former president. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, caring for her flowers, being outside, listening to country music, and dancing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Tracy; son, Arnold Rexroad (Trudy) of Beecher City, IL; daughters, Theresa Sutter (Rick Ragon) of Effingham, IL, Janice Linder (Rodney) of Mason, IL, and Greta Rexroad (Mark Macias) of Shelbyville, KY; 10 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Wayne Rexroad; great granddaughter, Lily Ann Sutter; sisters, Judy Tracy and Brenda Chandler; and brother, Jerry Bell.
