Clint E. Massey 

(August 19, 1959 –  July 30, 2024)

Clint E. Massey, 64, of Findlay, IL, passed away at 12: 57 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024, in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL, with Pastor Mike Carr officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Sarah Bush Lincoln Cancer Center, Mattoon, IL.

Clint was born on August 19, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert W., Sr. and Ernestine L. (Billerman) Massey. He attended Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1977.  Clint worked for the City of Shelbyville for 20 years in the Street, Cemetery, and Park Departments. He later worked as a lead operator for International Paper in Shelbyville for eight years, and then as a welder at GSI in Assumption, IL for 10 years. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the Shelbyville Fire Protection District for 10 years.  Clint enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, woodworking, listening to The Rolling Stones, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an avid bowler and was a former state bowling champion.  Clint married Lana K. Holmes on July 16, 2022, after 28 years together.

Clint is survived by his wife, Lana; sons, Tyson Massey and wife Beth of Effingham, IL, and Derek Massey of Danville, IL; step-son, Brandon Holmes of Windsor, IL; step-daughter, Autumn Holmes of Charleston, IL; brother, Robert Massey, Jr. of Decatur, IL, sister, Roberta “Birdie” Massey of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren, Parker Massey of Effingham, Draven Strode, Madison Massey, and Skylar Massey all of Shelbyville, Dreyson Massey of Pana, IL, and  Alta Massey of Lovington, IL;  and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sharon Hooker and Peggy Gray; and nephew, Aaron Dilley.

The family would like to thank the staff in the ICU and PCU at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, the doctors and nurses at Sarah Bush Lincoln Cancer Center, Dr. Venkat Minnaganti, and Dr. Jagan Bokka for their loving care of Clint.
