Ian Michael Stremming
(February 8, 1995 – August 12, 2024)
Ian Michael Stremming, 29, of Jefferson, GA, formerly of Windsor, IL, passed away on Monday August 12, 2024.
A visitation will be held from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Following the visitation there will be a celebration of Ian’s life at the family home near Windsor, IL. An additional memorial service will be held on September 7, 2024, in Jefferson, Georgia.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, Windsor Storm Library, or Saving Orphaned Animals.
Ian was born on February 8, 1995, in Mattoon, IL, the son of Kurt and Stacey (Kunzeman) Stremming. He graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 2013. Ian attended Lake Land College and then began working for R & R Contractors at ADM in Decatur, IL. He was currently an apprentice plumber with ADV Plumbing in Athens, GA. Ian was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf and was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Georgia Bulldogs football. Whether it was a round of golf or watching sports on tv, he was going to trash talk his way into your head. He loved music of all kinds from country to alternative, he would be singing along. Ian had a carefree, live life to the fullest attitude. He had a heart of gold and would share his heart with anybody. Ian never met a stranger. From the first moment he met you, you were considered a friend. When he left, you were guaranteed a big hug, a bigger smile and a witty comment. He loved to tell stories and make people laugh, and he never turned down a chance to have a beer(s). He loved animals and they loved him, just like all of us.
He is survived by his parents; brothers, Braden Stremming (Lindsey) of Arcola, IL and Logan Stremming of Windsor, IL; two nephews and a niece, Oliver, Raegan, and Deacon Stremming of Arcola, IL; paternal grandfather, Dale Stremming of Windsor, IL; maternal grandfather, Rex Kunzeman of Windsor, IL; uncle, Dirk Kunzeman of Windsor, IL; aunt, Sonya Stremming of Normal, IL; and Uncle and Aunt Michael and April Lasitter of Jefferson, GA.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Helen Stremming; and his maternal grandmother, Kathleen Kunzeman.
