Brenda S McHenry

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Memorials may be given to Moultrie County Habitat for Humanity in Sullivan, IL.
Brenda was born on March 23, 1950, daughter of Robert Oliver Marquiss and Wilma I. (Wood) Marquiss. Brenda was a life-long resident of central Illinois. She graduated from Findlay High School in the class of 1968. Brenda then attended college at Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, IL, and Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL. For the last decade, Brenda was employed at Agri-Fab in Sullivan, IL. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville, IL.
Brenda loved visiting the beach and lighthouses. More than anything she cherished time with her grandchildren, Caroline and Oliver, traveling south to visit her daughter Ashley, and lunch dates with her twin sister, Gwenda and daughter, Kimberly. Brenda was excitedly awaiting the birth of her third grandchild due in September.
Brenda is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Adamson (John), Sullivan, IL, and Ashley Huber (Jason), Mandeville, LA; twin sister Gwenda Boys (Don), Shelbyville, IL; brother, Robert Eugene Marquiss (Shirley), Vienna, IL; brother-in-law, Jim Stivers, Findlay, IL; grandchildren, Caroline and Oliver Adamson; nieces, Amy Rhoads (Kevin), Ruth Marquiss, Hannah Marquiss; and nephews Clayton Stivers (Mindy), and Aaron Marquiss (Monica).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Wilma Marquiss; sister, Sonja Stivers; and nephew, Jeremy Cutler.
Special thanks to the compassion shown by St. Johns Hospital, in particularly the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit.
