Aveleah A Kite

Aveleah Ann Kite, 59, of Shelbyville, died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Kite was born on October 5, 1948 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil Allen and Ernestine Ruth Hirtzel Doty. She graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1966. Her home church was the Strasburg United Methodist Church. Aveleah’s life centered around her grandchildren. She married Jimmie Joe “Jim” Kite on June 7, 1969.

Surviving are her husband, Jim Kite of Shelbyville; mother, Ruth Doty of Shelbyville; sons, Mark Kite and wife Ashley and Brent Kite all of Shelbyville; daughters, Sarah Edwards and husband Pat of Shelbyville and Rachael Kite of Charleston; brothers, Dale Doty and wife Sharolett of Mattoon, Mike Doty and wife Dianne of Strasburg and Lynn Doty and friend Teresa Boyd of Shelbyville; and five grandchildren, Sam Kite and Brandon, Katelynn, Hannah and Timothy Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Doty; and grandparents, Herbert and Mamie Hirtzel and Everett and Frieda Doty.
