Benjamin V. Limbert III
(January 23, 1959 – July 19, 2024)
Benjamin Vreeland Limbert III, 65, of Strasburg, IL, died at 8:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, in his residence.
In keeping with Ben’s wishes, no formal services are being planned. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL.
Ben was born on January 23, 1959, in New Haven, CT, the son of Benjamin Vreeland Limbert, Jr. and Dagmar (Schofield) Limbert. After high school, Ben served in the US Armed Forces. He then started a lifelong career as a truck driver. Ben enjoyed driving his semi, making model trucks, watching NASCAR, and listening to the old country music.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Toni Stevens of Strasburg, IL; sons, Casey Limbert of Saint Robert, MO, and Benjamin Limbert IV (Audrey) of Prospect, CT; daughter, Katherine Smith of Stonington, IL; grandchildren, Ayla, Andrew, Kristina, Ziggy and Collin; and great great granddaughter, Eva Limbert. Ben was blessed to also have an extended family of three sons, Danny Metcalf and Shawn Stevens both of Windsor, IL and Phillip Stevens of Effingham, IL; and grandchildren, Tristen, Trinity, Addington, and Ryker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
