Bradley L. Phillips

Bradley Lynn “Brad” Phillips, 59, of Herrick, IL, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Willow Breeze Hospice House, Mattoon, IL.
Brad was born on November 20, 1964, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Edward F. and Mary K. “Kathy” (Henderson) Phillips. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1983 and went on to attend Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis. Brad served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1988 to 1994. He married Donna M. Stossmeister on December 22, 1984. Brad worked as a Parts Manager at Birkey’s Farm Store in Shelbyville, IL.
Brad is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Derick Phillips and wife Liz of Westervelt, IL (Trayton, Cooper and Colt), Donnie Phillips and wife Destiony of Shelbyville, IL (Maddi, Corbin, and Max), and John Phillips and wife Stacey of Mattoon, IL (Kyia and Kali); daughter, Laura Koester and husband Clint of Springfield, IL (Chandler); brother, Ron Phillips and wife Carrie of Eldon, MO; nephews, Austin, Nick, ZJ and Zach; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maurine “Evie” Bowman of Forsyth, IL, Dean Sullivan and wife Donna of Lakewood, IL, Shawn Stossmeister and wife Sandra of Stover, MO, and Dawn Feken and husband Mike of Westervelt, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Freda Phillips; maternal grandparents, John and Ethel Henderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Maxine Stossmeister; sisters-in-law, Sandra Baker and Debra Snodgrass; and brother-in-law, Rick Stossmeister.
A celebration of Brad’s life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Willow Breeze Hospice House, Mattoon, IL.
