David L. Vance

David L. Vance, 64, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 6:32 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home.
David was born on February 19, 1958 in Springfield, IL. He is the son of Donald L. and Mildred J. (Simpson) Vance. He graduated from Palmyra High School and attended electrician school in St. Louis, MO. David owned and operated Vance Electric in Shelbyville until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, watching auto racing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He married Rebecca Jean “Becky” Edwards on July 26, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; son, Derrick L. Vance of Shelbyville, IL: daughters, Jessica Edwards of Mattoon, IL and Sarah Graf (Ronnie) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Haylee Miller, Liam Leslie, Carson Leslie, Amelia Graf, Elaine Graf and Solise Graf; and uncles, Coy and Kenneth Vance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mildred; aunts, Phyllis Kramer and Thelma Smith; and uncle, Norman Vance.
