Dorothy M. Riley, 78, of Shelbyville, died at 1:35 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Shelbyville Manor.

In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes no services will be held. A memorial dinner will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Cornerstone Community Fellowship (1/2 mile south of IL Rt. 16 on 2100 E Road) Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Dorothy was born on March 28, 1935 in Shelby County, IL, the daughter of Bruce O. and Opal Violet Thompson Hudson. She graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 1954. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked for Continental Can in Shelbyville and was a representative for Home Interiors. She married Jimmie D. Riley in 1984.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie; son, Russell Dobbs of Shelbyville, IL; daughters, Kathy Roessler of Shelbyville, IL, Susan Dobbs of Effingham, IL, Carla Curtis and husband John of Shelbyville, IL and Pam Riley and husband Bill of Strasburg, IL; step-sons, Rick Riley of Cowden, IL and Rusty Riley and wife Karen of Shelbyville, IL; step-daughter, Jeannie Riley of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Marlene Flesner and husband Bob of Shelbyville, IL and Linda Manuel of Shelbyville, IL; brother-in-law, Buster Powell of Decatur, IL; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Kenny Bruce Dobbs; step-son, Jimmie Riley, Jr. and sister, Joanne Powell.
