Gwendolyn L. King, 94, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in the Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL or her grandchildren’s baseball team, Mattoon Hitmen, Mattoon, IL.

Gwendolyn was born on May 5, 1923 in Knox County, Delong, IL, the daughter of Harry and Edna (Burnett) Cramer. She graduated from Abingdon High School. She worked at and retired from Shelby Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville. Gwendolyn married Raymond E. King on November 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death on September 10, 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Logan (Greg) of Shelbyville, IL; son, Robert “Bob” King (Renee) of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Ashley Rincker (Rory) of Windsor, IL, Jeremy Logan (Amber) of Shelbyville, IL, and Cassandra King of Mattoon, IL; and great grandchildren, Rhett, Rylan and Arora Rincker, and Kelton and Aylah Logan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and brothers, Junior, Charles, Wendell and Marvin Cramer; and sisters, Lucile Dunn, Georgi Nichols, and Shirley Blust.
