Margaret T Burk

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, January 8, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Mitch Ramey officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – noon on Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Fourth Street United Methodist Church or the Shelby County Senior Center.
Mrs. Burk was born on February 16, 1924 in Centenary, IN, the daughter of Jasper and Antoinette (Cavaletto) Gillio. She married Kenneth E. Burk on July 26, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX. Marge worked as the Health and Beauty Aids Manager for Johnston’s IGA in Shelbyville for over 20 years. Marge and Kenny enjoyed spending their winters in Okeechobee, FL from 1986 – 1997. She was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church and the Kaskaskia Boat Club both in Shelbyville, IL. Marge loved dancing, traveling and spending time with her sister, Ginny.
She is survived by her son, Larry Burk (Todd) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Zane Zumbahlen (Tracy) of Brookfield, CT, Ryan Zumbahlen (Christy) of Indianapolis, IN and Weston Burk (Lindsey) of New Milford, CT; great grandchildren, Joel and Zada Zumbahlen and Liam and Evelyn Burk; sisters-in-law, Betty Robbins of Shelbyville, IL and Joan Wilson of Dewey, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth E. Burk on June 27, 2013; daughter, Cheryl Zumbahlen (Larry); sister, Virginia “Ginny” Ybarrondo (Tom); and brothers-in-law, Bob Robbins, Loren Wilson and Earl “Tip” Burk (Lou).
