Nancy J Connors
(January 17, 1935 – June 27, 2017)

Nancy Jean (Moyer) Connors, 82, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour before service time on Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville in lieu of flowers.

Nancy was born at Shelbyville Memorial Hospital on January 17, 1935 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of George and Georgia (Wright) Moyer. Nancy attended Shelbyville schools in Shelbyville, IL, and graduated in 1953. She later attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, and Decatur Memorial Hospital Lab School in Decatur, IL. Her love for decorating and designing led her to pursue a career in Real Estate, where she transformed beautiful historic homes. Her love of history and art came second only to her Lord, family, and wonderful friends. As an only child, Nancy cherished her great friends and all of the social events they shared, such as Gourmet Club, Bridge Club, Class Girls Club, and many charitable and social organizations. Nancy also taught decorating classes at Lake Land College and spoke to many groups around Central Illinois. She was an accomplished antique decorator and ran her own antique shop called “The Antique Decorator”. Nancy was a 75 year member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, IL. She married her “soul mate”, Paul L. Connors on February 9, 1957 in Shelbyville, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Mike Connors (Brandy), Land O’ Lakes, FL; daughter, Beth Hoegger (Harry), Heyworth, IL; and grandchildren, Ashley and Connor Hoegger, and Olivia and Abigail Connors.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
