Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mattoon, IL with Bishop M. Shane Gosnell officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Abbey was born on October 16, 1988 in Effingham, IL the daughter of Christopher and Diane Beck Leonard. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 2007 and attended Robert Morris University and Brigham Young University. She was a medical assistant in the office of Dr. Oligschlaeger in Shelbyville, IL and later in the Middleton Urology Clinic in Murray, UT. Abbey was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Timothy James Hansmann on December 23, 2011 in Mattoon, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy Hansmann of Orem, UT; father, Christopher Leonard of Mattoon, IL; mother, Diana Leonard of Clarksburg, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby and Julie Hansmann of Orem, UT; sister, Holly Doty of Houston, TX; and grandmothers, Sharon Beck of Mattoon, IL and Shirley Leonard of Mattoon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers.
