Garland “Adam” Henry Schultz , 92, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 6:24 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders and Rev. Dennis Corley officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Neoga Cemetery, Neoga, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals Shelby County.

Adam was born on March 15, 1930 in Stewardson, IL, the son of John Floyd and Erna Mae Laver Schultz.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.  Adam began working as a milk truck driver for Prairie Farms Dairy.  He later worked as a farmhand for Doehring Farms and Durbin Farms.  He was a Life Member of VFW Post #4829 and attended Shelby Christian Church both in Shelbyville.  Adam enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, mowing and aggravating his grandchildren.  He loved dogs and was especially fond of Demmy and Dozer.

He is survived by his daughters, Penny Auburn (Gary) of Shelbyville, Susan Harris of Mode and Tina Wade (Dennis) of Shelbyville; sons, Troy Schultz of Watson, Tony Schultz (Sara) of Shelbyville, Tommy Schultz (Tara Miller) of Shelbyville and Stacy Schultz of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Justin (Amy), Tina (Jamie), Andee, Hollie, Ragan, Crosby, Sayne, Maycen and Paxton; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, Carl, Merl, Roy and Max Schultz; sisters, Ruth Keller, Marguerite Alto, Freda Nilhas,  Ales Schultz and Opal McMasters; and son-in-law, Henry Thomas Harris.
