Agnes P Smith

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Food Pantry of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Mrs. Smith was born on January 11, 1916 in Westervelt, Illinois, the daughter of Chancellor L. and Louisa Caroline Mautz Pawley. She graduated from Westervelt High School in the Class of 1933 and attended Eastern Illinois University. She was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Westervelt where she was church organist for many years and Chrisman United Methodist Church. She married Cecil E. Smith on September 29, 1934. He died on October 3, 2001.
Surviving are her nephew, Gerry Englund and wife Carol of Mattoon; great nieces, Cari Morton and husband Jason of Troy and Terry Prasun and husband Bob of Windsor; and great nephews, Kenneth Englund and wife Michelle of Mattoon and Todd Englund of Westervelt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil; son, Harvey P. Smith; daughter, Sandra Leigh Smith; sister, Katherine England; nephew, Norvel Englund; and great niece, Tammy Rhodes.
