Alberta “Bertie” M Reber

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Bishop Christy J. Christner and Bishop Steve Ulrich officiating. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, near Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Mt. Hermon Amish Mennonite Church or donor’s choice.
Mrs. Reber was born on August 4, 1923 in Pana, Illinois, the daughter of Victor “Jake” and Mary Kloever Huffmaster. She was a graduate of Pana High School and attended the Mt. Hermon Amish Mennonite Church, near Shelbyville. She married Joseph Reber, Jr. on April 4, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri. He died on June 29, 2000.
Surviving are her son, Rick Reber and wife Linda of Shelbyville; daughters, Donna Showalter and husband Jack of Illiopolis and Cheryl Grove and husband Junior of Blue Mound; grandchildren, Gene Showalter and wife Denise, Rodney Grove and wife Julie, Jennifer Grove, Susan Reber, Sara Reber and Sandi Reber; and great grandchildren, Kaylee Showalter, Madison Showalter, Tristin Grove and Colton Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; and six sisters, Beatrice “Tootsie” Neece, Catherine Hall, Ellamae “Mickey” Corley, Hattie Beard, Martha Huffmaster and Magdalene Neece.
