Alberta L. Mieure

Alberta L. Mieure , 94, of Gurnee, IL, formerly of Sumner, IL and Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 in Rolling Hills Manor, Zion, IL.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Glenwood Cemetery (Section B), Shelbyville, IL with Rev.  Richard Hargrave officiating.  No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Peace Meal Program.

Alberta was born on March 1, 1928 in Whiting, IN, the daughter of Andrew and Vernice Marie (Taylor) Beckett.  Alberta graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1946 and Varner Beauty School in Paris, IL. She married Gerald Mieure on June 3, 1950.  He preceded her in death on November 19, 2003.  Alberta was a homemaker who loved crafting and weekend trips antiquing with her husband.

She is survived by her son, Taylor “TG” Mieure and wife Julie of Waukegan, IL; grandchildren, Jason Mieure (Tori) and Tiffany Alvarado (Jerry); and great grandchildren, Daniel, Jordan, Maisy, Millie, and Milo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; and brother, William Beckett.
