Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Fellowship Baptist Church, 411 W. North 5th Street, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Chase Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given at http://gfwd.at/RCD4pX . Alex was born on November 8, 1974 in Olney, IL, the son of Robert Charles and Linda Silvia Hassinger Jones. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA. Alex was a merchandiser for Pepsi-Cola in Taylorville, IL. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edinburg, IL. He married Jennifer Marie Albers on August 8, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Edinburg, IL; children, Ashley Marie Cherry of Ferrum, VA, and Zachary Douglas Albers-Jones, Spencer Alexander Jones, and Parker Henry Jones all of Edinburg, IL; parents, Robert and Linda Jones of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Jeremie Adam Jones of Mattoon, IL; sister, Jennifer Jones-Mudgette of Shelbyville, IL; grandmothers, Yvonne “Bonnie” (Lawrence) Sparks of Newton, IL and Hannalora Hales of Raymond, CA.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lee Jones; step-grandfather, Ralph Hales; and cousin, Garhart Schneider.
