Eileene was a woman with many gifts and passions. Eileene had the gift of hospitality. Everyone that walked through her door felt welcomed and a sense of belonging. She loved baking, reading, helping Bill on the farm, and cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren participate in sports, always their biggest fan. However, she especially loved her time at Mart’s Tot n Teens in Pana, Illinois, which she eventually owned and operated as Ilene’s Infants and Children’s Wear. Eileene also touched many lives during her summers cooking at Camp Maranatha church camp, where she shared her gift of hospitality and faith with campers and staff.
Eileene is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughters, Denise Shuck-Kelly of Assumption and Renea Smith (Rob) of Moweaqua; six grandchildren; Tim Kelly, Hillary Hartley, Joe Kelly, Lexee Ludwig (Caleb), Jameson Smith (fiancée Jayne), and James Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Kelly, Etta Hartley, Kate Ludwig and another blessing due in February; her twin sister, Arlene Harbarger of Assumption; brothers, Raymond Barringer of Shabbona and Sidney Barringer (Brenda) of Shelbyville; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
