Andrew L Tomaszewski

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Jan Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Community Dialysis.
Andrew was born on May 13, 1931 in Chicago, IL, the son of Andrew and Catherine Swider Tomaszewski. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. Andrew married Rosemary Drzewiecki on April 28, 1956. He was a machine shop supervisor for Campbell’s Soup in Chicago, IL. After he retired, Andrew and Rosemary moved to rural Shelbyville and made it their home. Andrew enjoyed bowling, archery and playing golf.
He is survived by his two daughters, Laura Tomaszewski and Annette Tomaszewski both of Shelbyville, IL: son, Mark Tomaszewski of Basin, WY; sister, Stella (Stephanie) Tomaszewski of Las Cruces, NM; and three grandchildren, Brock, Blake and Roxanne Hammond all of Shelbyville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary on August 16, 1997; brothers, Casmir, Matthew and Alfred Tomaszewski; sisters, Lillian Skora, Helen Lamm and Theresa Skowronek; and grandsons, Mitchell and Matthew Hammond.
