Annette C. Johnson

Annette Christina Johnson, 52, of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Sullivan, IL, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2024, in her residence.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. To assist the family with expenses, memorials may be made to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home.

Annette was born on March 8, 1972, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Nathan and Sharon Gail (Stewardson) Johnson. She attended school in Pana, IL. Annette was a Certified Nurse Assistant and was employed at Shelbyville Manor. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, traveling, doll collecting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Annette was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. 

She is survived by her five children, Stephanie N. Jenkins of Pana, IL, Brittney M. Paul of Jonesboro, AR, Halley D. Karnes (Jonnathon Thompson) of Mattoon, IL, Brandi N. Kemper of Casey, IL, and Jordan C. Kemper of Casey, IL; two stepsons, Michael Jenkins and Zachary Jenkins; thirteen grandchildren, Joclynn Cunningham, Mikaeylah Cunningham, Jaymen Cunningham, Leah Paul, Evlynn Paul, Karson McCormick, Katelynn Thompson, Serenity Kemper, Benton Kemper, Tori Kemper, Maggie Kemper, Bryson Kemper, and Sydney Kemper; and three siblings, Nathan W. Johnson (Lisa) of Altamont, IL, Kenneth C. Kimmel of Shelbyville, IL and Elizabeth Ann Locke of Macon, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Johnson; mother, Sharon (Stewardson) Johnson Phillips Davis; stepson, Justin Jenkins; maternal grandparents, Richard and Edith Stewardson; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Alberta Jenkins.
