Annette Tolly Buesking, 76, of Strasburg, met her Lord face to face at 11:44 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 in St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Strasburg. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Church Choir, Lutheran Braille Workers or donor’s choice.

Mrs. Buesking was born on November 29, 1930 in Charleston, Illinois, the daughter of Chauncey Raymond and Nina Wilhoit Hollingsworth. She was adopted in 1935 by Floyd and Hazel Tolly. An honors graduate of Eastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois, she took additional work at Lakeland College and Indiana University. A veteran of 30 years teaching in public schools, including Windsor and Stewardson-Strasburg, Mrs. Buesking retired to continue with volunteer work. She was a volunteer with R.S.V.P., Lutheran Braille Workers, Peace Meal, Blood Bank and the American Cancer Society. Part of her other volunteer work included Partners in Adult Literacy and teaching “Rules of the Road Review” for the Secretary of State’s Office and quilt making in her church group. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Church Choir, D.A.R., Delta Zeta Sorority and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association. She married Ralph Eugene Buesking on August 21, 1954.

Surviving are her husband, Ralph; two sons, Andrew Jay “Buck” Buesking and wife Virginia of Fairfax, VA and Michael Ray “Mike” Buesking and wife Debra of Brighton, MO; sister, Bonnie Harris of Strasburg; and four grandchildren, Molly and Samuel Buesking of Brighton, MO and Chase and Brooke Ann Buesking of Fairfax, VA.

She was preceded in death both sets of parents; two brothers; and one sister.
