Artie O Logsdon, Jr.
(November 28, 1955 – January 06, 2015)
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Oak Grove Cemetery, near Cowden, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating and military rites by the Shelby Co. Honor Guard. Casual attire is requested. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Artie was born on November 28, 1955 in Joliet, IL, the son of Artie Oral and Mary Elizabeth Rose Logsdon. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1974. Artie then served in the U. S. Air Force. He was retired. Artie was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing video games and cards. He married Cheryl A. Bly on August 7, 1978.
He is survived by his three sons, Adam S. Logsdon (Misty) of Shelbyville, IL, Artie B. “Ben” Logsdon (Bryce) of Mattoon, IL and Jason M. Bly of Mattoon, IL; brothers, Alan J. Logsdon of Shelbyville, IL, Robert L. Logsdon (Kris) of Sullivan, IL, Brian K. Logsdon (Valerie) of Bethany, IL and Bradley C. Logsdon of Shelbyville; and four grandchildren, Scott L. Logsdon, Destin L. Logsdon, Rachel M. Bly and Olivia K. Bly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Jordan H. Bly.
