Audrey N West

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Derrick Ritchie and Rev. David Beerbower officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, near Westervelt, IL. Memorials may be given to the Tower Hill Christian Church or Shelby County Senior Center.

Audrey was born March 7, 1926 at home in Shelby County, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Lesta Sands Reichart. She attended Westervelt High School, graduating in the Class of 1944. Audrey married Lyle W. West on March 7, 1947, in Springfield, IL. She helped her husband on the family farm near Tower Hill and was also an LPN at Shelby Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Audrey was a member of the Tower Hill Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge both of Tower Hill, and Shelby County Home Extension.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Dixie Burrell and husband Steve of Shelbyville, IL; grandson, Toby Burrell, and his daughters, Ashley and Megan and his son, George; grandson, Robert Burrell and his daughters, Meghan and Olivia; and grandson, Matt Burrell and his sons, Aiden and Elliott. She is also survived by three great great grandchildren and a special sister-in-law, Joan West of Lakewood.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle on January 22, 1993; sister, Waneta Sparks; three infant brothers; and brother-in-law, Vernell West.
