Barbara J. Bachman , 82, of Findlay, IL, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022, in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Findlay United Methodist Church, Findlay, IL with Rev. Jake Wetterlin officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL. Memorials may be given to Findlay United Methodist Church Bag Ladies. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Barbara was born on January 9, 1940 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Floyd E. and Leota Erline (Warren) Harris. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and went on to study at Richland Community College. Barbara worked as a Secretary at ADM in Decatur until her retirement. She later worked as Town Clerk for Okaw Township. She married Leo Alexander “Sonny” Bachman on December 31, 1961 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2014. Barbara was a member of the United Methodist Church in Findlay, where she participated in the choir and was active in the Bag Ladies, a program to help the homeless.

Barbara is survived by her children, Lynette Bachman-Phillips of Shelbyville, IL, Alexander Bachman of Findlay, IL and Ronda Kay Nesser (Chris) of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, C.J. Nesser, Breanna Bachman and Ethan Bachman; and sisters-in-law, Charlene Harris of San Diego, CA, and Sally Wills Crofford of Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Roger and Keith Harris.
