Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL with Rev. Michael Mohr officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL and one hour before service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, Shelbyville Public Library or Donor’s Choice.

Barbara was born October 29, 1936 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Carl Franklin, Sr. and Dorothy Belle Johnson Faulkner. She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in the class of 1954 and graduated from Illinois Teacher’s College, now Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL. Barbara was a retired school teacher in the Shelbyville area and was a babysitter after her retirement. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL and an avid Cardinal fan. She married Earl Clifford Lenz on September 28, 1956 in Shelbyville, IL. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2006.

Barbara is survived by her children, Lana D. Lenz of Shelbyville, IL and Alan D. Lenz and wife Sonya of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Alason and David Lenz of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Carl Faulkner, Jr. of Sullivan, IL, and Ronald Faulkner and wife Cheryl of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Marilyn Harley of Shelbyville, IL, Linda Cole and husband Larry of Shelbyville, IL, Janet Wankel of Plano, IL, and Debby Faulkner of Seminole, FL; sister-in-law, Doris Falkner of Shelbyville, IL; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and neighbors Earl, Judy, Erin and Matthew Boester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Lenz; son; Clifford Lenz; brother, David Faulkner; sister, Margery Wilson; brothers-in-law, Howard Harley, Dean Lenz, Wayne Lenz, and John Wilson, and sister-in-law Opal Cole.
