Barbara L Figgins

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012 in the Stewardson Seventh-day Adventist Church, 206 W. Main St., Stewardson, IL 62463. Visitation from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 108 N. Locust St., Strasburg, IL 62465 with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the church. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in Lower Ash Grove Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham, IL or to the family.

Barbara was born on March 24, 1952 in Eddy County, North Dakota, the daughter of Arnold and Mabel C. Lehmann Hoffman. She was an industrial seamstress in the Research and Development Department of Mid America Motorworks in Effingham, IL. Barbara previously worked for Ballinger Woodworking Company in Neoga, IL, owned and operated Prairie Designs in Stewardson, IL and helped on the family farm. She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Stewardson, IL. Barbara married Wendell Irvin Figgins on March 17, 1974.

Surviving are her husband, Wendell Figgins of Stewardson, IL; son, Matthew Figgins and wife Michelle of Stewardson, IL; daughter, Amber Gass and husband Shane of Maryville, TN; mother, Mabel Hoffman of Middle River, MN; brothers, Norman Hoffman and wife Sandy of Des Moines, IA and Kimber Hoffman and wife Linda of Middle River, MN; four grandchildren, Garret and Grace Figgins and Jonathon and Evan Gass; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Hoffman.
