Barry Lynn Kneller, 69, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020 in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 in Glenwood Cemetery, Section A, with Pastor John Curtis officiating and military rites. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Honor Guard and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Barry was born on September 20, 1951 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Arthur Harold and Ruby (Agney) Kneller. Barry was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and was drafted into the U.S. Navy. Barry went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, peacetime, and Gulf War Era. Barry always enjoyed mushroom hunting and was a skilled handyman. He was affiliated with St. John’s Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, and was a member of Shelbyville VFW Post #4829, Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81, and served on the Shelby County Honor Guard for over 20 years.

Barry is survived by his daughters, Jody Goodin (Brian) of Gibson City, IL, and Theresa Hack (Cory) of Onarga, IL; brothers, Denny Kneller (Linda) of Shelbyville, IL, Dave Kneller (Marla) of Sebring, FL, and Brad Agney (Loretta) of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Dixie Kneller Storm (Jesse); 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Cathy Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gretchen Hocq; sister, Dorothy Kneller; and special aunt, Goldie Forsythe.
