Betty I Martin

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Illinois with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Mrs. Martin was born on October 1, 1924 in Shelbyville, Illinois the daughter of Elmer Mike and Mary Alday Griffin. Betty was the manager of Quality Market in Shelbyville and Lake Lawn Restaurant in Pana for several years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary both in Shelbyville. She married Donald Ellis Martin on May 21, 1941.

Surviving are her husband, Donald of Tower Hill; son, Larry Martin and wife Jackie of Neoga, Illinois; and niece, Virginia Davis of Williamsville, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wendell “Wink” Griffin; one sister, Evelyn Griffin; and one niece, Beverly Kruger Jones.
