Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Wayland Middendorf officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shelbyville or Alzheimer’s Association.
Betty was born on January 20, 1925 in Westervelt, the daughter of Loy “Jack” and Alta Skiff Martin. She graduated from Westervelt High School in the class of 1942 and worked for Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou, Inc. and Amerilla’s Fashions both in Shelbyville. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shelbyville. She married Carl A. Kimlel on May 31, 1947 in Naperville.
Surviving are her husband, Carl; daughters, Kathleen McDonald of Roberts, Janet Jeffers and husband Steven of Rantoul and Barbara Anderson and husband Bill of Richmond, VA; sister, Mildred Miller of Shelbyville; three granddaughters; three step-grandsons; one great grandson; and one great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don, Merlin and Roy Martin; and sister, Alice Ruff.
