In keeping with Beverly’s wishes, no services will be held. Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Relay for Life in memory of her granddaughter, Jennifer Frye.
Beverly was born on October 5, 1931 in Todd’s Point Twp., near Findlay, IL, the daughter of Harvey Mansfield and Mary Jane (Robinson) Matheny. She attended Shelbyville High School. Beverly began working for P.N. Hirsh & Co. in Sullivan, IL. She later worked for Decatur Memorial Hospital, Montgomery Ward and Firestone all in Decatur, IL and was the Center Director of the Shelby County Senior Center at the time it was built in Forest Park, Shelbyville, IL.
She is survived by her children, Barbara E. Owens (Larry), Robert E. Florey (Diane) and Rodney L. Florey; sister, Joyce A. Matheny; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Harlene Emmons and Hilda Matheny; and granddaughter, Jennifer Frye.
