Bill Hunter

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Casual attire is requested. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Saving Orphaned Animals or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Bill was born on October 7, 1940 in Shelbyville, IL the son of James Preston and Nellie Marie Jones Hunter. He graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1958 and served in the Illinois Army National Guard. Bill was a lifelong farmer in the Findlay area. He was also a machinist for Hydro-Gear in Sullivan, IL. Bill was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL and a former member of the Windsor Gun Club, Moose Lodge #1294 and Shelby Country Club. He enjoyed his Dachshunds, playing golf, shooting trap, bowling, having breakfast with his friends at the Farm House, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. He married Martha Jean Tuchek on July 25, 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; daughters, Tamera Jo Kingery and husband Steve of Findlay, IL, Shelley Marie Wallis of Warrensburg, IL and Nichole “Nicky” Suzanne Diehl and husband Phil of Sandwich, IL; sister, Janice Lash and husband Ron of Edwardsville, IL; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
