Bradley Lynn “Bubba” Mathis, 54, of Strasburg, IL, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 in the Strasburg United Methodist Church, Strasburg, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department or Haven House/Journey for Jordan.

Brad was born on September 28, 1961 in Mattoon, IL, the son of John Francis and Rosabelle Rosine Mathis. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1979. Brad was a tool setter for Anamet in Mattoon, IL, where he worked for over 35 years. He was a past president and member of the Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department. Brad attended the Strasburg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed deer hunting, riding his GoldWing motorcycle, going to car shows with his ’65 Chevy Caprice and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Illini Basketball and Stewardson-Strasburg Basketball and Baseball. He married Tamela “Tami” Wade on July 27, 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Tami; son, Wade Bradley Mathis of Strasburg, IL; brothers, Stanley Mathis and wife Cindy of Shumway, IL and Kevin Mathis and wife Lori of Strasburg, IL; brother-in-law, Rob Macklin of Effingham, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Denise Macklin.
