Brent Robertson

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Wray Offermann and Rev. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 15 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Shelbyville, IL or the American Cancer Society.

Brent was born on October 7, 1953 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Bobbie and Doris (McNeese) Robertson. He attended Shelbyville High School and was in the Class of 1972. Brent worked as a welder at Caterpillar for 33 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Shelbyville, IL. Brent enjoyed gardening, fishing, guns and mushroom hunting. He married Janet K. Rhodes on October 26, 1973.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Josh Robertson of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Jessica Estes of Mode, IL; mother, Doris Robertson of Westervelt, IL; sisters, Darla Galvin (Donald) of Findlay, IL and Lila Jarnagin (fiancé, Steve Lamb) of Westervelt, IL; brother, Ivan Robertson (Angel) of Westervelt, IL; brothers-in-law, Gary Rhodes (Donna) of Pana, IL, Jerry Rhodes of Pana, IL, Carl Rhodes (Penny) of Tower Hill, IL, and Rick Rhodes of Shelbyville, IL; sisters-in-law, Linda Polley of Oblong, IL, Debbie Stephens of Shelbyville, IL and Valorie Rhodes of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Courtney Boyer and Jaxon Estes; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Robertson; father, Bobbie Robertson; brother, Greg Robertson; brothers-in-law, Gene Rhodes, Larry Rhodes (Karen) and Ronnie Rhodes; and sister-in-law, Dottie Rhodes.
