Carl E Kircher
(July 11, 1928 – April 14, 2011)
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Shelby County Honor Guard. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville or Donor’s Choice.
Mr. Kircher was born on July 11, 1928 in Ridge Township, Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Ralph Arthur and Silvah Belle Renner Kircher. Carl was a graduate of Westervelt High School. He married Lela Young on March 18, 1950. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Carl farmed in the Westervelt area until his retirement in 1991. He was the oldest living member baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville. He enjoyed carving ducks, painting gourds and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Lela; and sister, Evelyn Johnston of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Herman and Alva Kircher.
