Carl J. Wooters, Jr., 84, of Shelbyville, formerly of Moweaqua, Illinois, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 in Shelbyville Manor.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to VFW Post # 4829 of Shelbyville.

Mr. Wooters was born on January 22, 1925 in Moweaqua, Illinois, the son of Carl and Pearl Marie Gobert Wooters, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Carl was a carpenter and millwright for Carpenters’ Local 742 of Decatur, Illinois. He was a member of the Moweaqua Masonic Lodge and VFW Post #4829 of Shelbyville. He married Jean L. Matlock on May 15, 1948 in Moweaqua, Illinois.

Surviving are his wife, Jean; son, Monte Wooters and wife Dana of Appleton, Wisconsin; sisters, Vivian Supina of East Stroudsburg, PA and Louise Weakly of Moweaqua, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Benjamin and Evelyn Wooters and Cody and Cole Potter all of Appleton, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Norma Fathauer.
