Carl N Boys

A private family graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Carl was born on July 6, 1926, near Westervelt, IL, the son of Wilkison R. and Lena (Killam) Boys. He graduated from Westervelt High School in the Class of 1944. Carl then served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of WW II. He married Lois A. Rentfrow on March 2, 1952. Carl farmed in the Westervelt area and also worked out of Labor Local #1262 in Shelbyville, IL. Carl was a member of Fourth Street United Methodist Church and VFW Post #4829 both in Shelbyville, the former Findlay Masonic Lodge #831, and Danville Consistory and Shrine.

He is survived by his son, Harold Boys (Marsha) of Shelbyville, IL; daughters, Deborah Tichenor (John) of Shelbyville, IL; Janet Ehret (Mike) of Belleville, IL, and Bonnie Powers (Jim) Findlay, IL; sisters, Rosemary Miller of Connecticut, and Harriet Ramos of California; grandchildren, Jennifer Winslow (Jon), Carla Luther (Jason), Andrew Ehret, Amy Ehret, Justin Tichenor, Wyatt Tichenor, Brittany Washburn (Steven), Sarah Humphrey (Stephen), Rachel Knight (Jeremy), Monica Cameron (Scott), Colleena Fox (Jason); and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; brothers, Edgar, Lester, Paul and Bob Boys; sister, Lucy Ater; daughter-in-law Maureen Boys; and grandson, Brandon Miller.
