Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery, Watson, IL. Memorials may be given to the family.
Carla was born on July 29, 1963 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Glenn Earl and Karen White Blackwell. She graduated from Cowden-Herrick High School in the Class of 1981. Carla enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She married Harold Lewis Thomas and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Jeremy Earl Blackwell and wife Alexis of Effingham, IL, Burl Phillip Blackwell and friend Brandy Flowers of Altamont, IL, Kyle Lewis Thomas and wife Kayla of Beecher City, IL, Harold Eric Thomas and wife Rachel of Killeen, TX and Wesley Duane Thomas and friend Diana Ingersoll of Effingham, IL; father, Glenn Blackwell and wife Delores of Shelbyville, IL; mother, Karen White of Holliday, IL; brothers, Faron Blackwell and wife Vicki of Shelbyville, IL, Jeremy Glenn Blackwell of Shelbyville, IL, Joshua White and wife Crissy of Springfield, IL, and Nathan Blackwell of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, April Baker and husband Kevin of Grenada, MS and Maxie Evans of Effingham, IL; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Richard White and one grandson.
