Carol J Hurley

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Don Jefferies officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be given to the Chautauqua Restoration Fund in Shelbyville, IL.
Carol was born on September 11, 1957 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Dwane Adrian and Pearl Joy (Drake) Shaffer. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1975 and attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL. Carol enjoyed music, dance, acting, and anything connected to the Performing Arts. She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Chautauqua Auditorium Preservation Committee, and the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, IL. Carol loved roses and was a master rose gardener. She most recently worked as a disc jockey for the Cromwell Radio Group in Mattoon, IL.
She is survived by her children, Maggie Hurley (Cameron) of Urbana, IL and Andrew Hurley (Sierra) of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Jim Shaffer (Sandy) of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Donna Worcester (Peter) of San Diego, CA; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
