Carol Sue Ray , 59, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 in Sand Creek Cemetery, Windsor, IL with Gary Crowder officiating.  Casual attire is requested. Memorials may be given to the family.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Carol was born on November 15, 1962 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Harold Dean and Jewell Marie (Stevens) Gill.  She attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1981.  Carol was an in-home caregiver.  She previously worked for Shelbyville Manor in the dietary department, Brunken’s Dairy Farm, Fedders and Petty Printing both in Effingham, and the Decatur Herald & Review delivering newspapers. Carol attended Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville.

She is survived by her mother, Jewell Gill of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Cindy Heady and husband Larry “Bingo” of Mattoon, IL; nephews, Ross Heady and Hunter Gill; niece, Harlie Gill; and great nephew, Tucker Gordon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; brother, Charles Gill; and nephew, Charles Gill, Jr.
