Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Steve Ulrich officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, near Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Safe Haven Hospice, Effingham, IL.
Carrie was born on April 22, 1922 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of John and Ida Kauffman Hostetler. She was a member of the Mt. Hermon Amish Mennonite Church near Shelbyville, IL. She married David P. Eash on June 12, 1940. He died on May 25, 1967.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Niemeyer and husband Kim of Humboldt, IL and Lorene Geier and husband Michael of Pekin, IL; brother, Roy Earl Hostetler of Albany, OR; sister Elsie Headings of Muscoda, WI; grandchildren, Darrin Woolen, Lee Ann Foster and husband Andy; Tammy Glenn and husband Doug, Matt Niemeyer and wife Tana, Ben Niemeyer and wife Felicia, Lynn Bastien and husband Mathieu and Chris Geier; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and special friends, Carol, Kristy and Kathy Smith and Dawn Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; daughter, Sarah Huffman; brothers, Levi and Raymond Hostetler; sisters, Ella Mae Long and Ruby Hostetler; brother-in-law, Roy Headings; and sister-in-law, Arlene Hostetler.
