Charles A Idleman
(November 25, 1929 – April 30, 2012)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday with Masonic rites at 7:00 p.m. by Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 of Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Idleman was born on November 25, 1929 in Blue Mound, Illinois, the son of Olin and Dolly Sutton Idleman. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Charles worked for Aurora Caterpillar for over 30 years, before his retirement. He was a 50 year Mason, Past Master of Plainfield Lodge #536, Past Master of Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 of Shelbyville and a member of Grand Royal Arch Aurora Chapter #22, and York Rite Bodies: Council #45 and Commandery #22 of Aurora. Charles was a member of the First Christian Church and V.F.W. Post #4829 both of Shelbyville. He married Alice Bryson on February 25, 1950.
He leaves wife of 62 years, Alice; son, Leon Idleman and wife Betty of Plainfield, IL; daughter, Cindy Idleman of Crest Hill, IL; sisters, Helen Lee of Decatur, IL, Juanita Simon of Kankakee, IL, and Mary Orsborn of Neoga, IL; four granddaughters; one grandson; and 16 great grandchildren.
Charles will unite with sons, Charles and Warren Idleman; parents, Dolly and Olin Idleman; and in-laws, Dorothy and Orvel Bryson.
