Charles H Williams

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. Robert Hoover officiating and military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation from 1:00-1:45 p.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
Mr. Williams was born on June 24, 1922 in Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Charles Howell and Josephine McKrell Williams. He graduated from high school in Advance, Missouri. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a tool and die maker for the Oliver Corporation and Shelby Tool and Die both in Shelbyville. He married Amelia Mae Reynolds on September 20, 1951.
Surviving are his wife, Amelia; daughter, Sally Williams of Decatur; son, David Williams and wife Shelby of Shelbyville; sister, Helen Williams of Williamston, SC; half-brother, Ivan Williams and wife Audrey of Cerro Gordo; step-brothers, Carl McClain of Shelbyville and Earl McClain and wife Linda of Findlay; step-sister, Opal Lemmons of suburban Chicago; grandchildren, Tori Williams of Decatur and Jeremy Smock of Willow Hill, Illinois; step-granddaughters, Jodi Long and Julie Horath; great grandchildren, Natasha and Joseph Smock; step-great grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany Steiner and Kalie and Jordan Horath; and special “grandchildren”, Sydney and Andrew Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Joseph and Tracy Williams; brothers, Glen and Fred Williams; sisters, Hazel, Maude and Edith; and half –brother, Herb Williams.
